Jefferson Davis' home at the time of his death

The stairs look impressive, but they are starting to rot

This is the awesome view from the porch
I can imagine Jefferson Davis and his wife sitting on this porch

Nate really liked this desk

Looking into one of the bedrooms

The beds were so pretty
This room was closed, but we could see in through the door

This is a statue of Jefferson Davis at his Presidential Library

A little note:  My ancestor, Nicholas Rightor's best man was Jefferson Davis.  He married Minerva Putnam Craig on December 30th, 1822 in Natchez, MS.

The Dock at Live Oak Landing

Nate and I took a little walk today down to the dock here at Live Oak Landing.  It was a chilly day, but I got some cool pics.  I love the way the trees and sky are reflected in the water.
