Old Fort Jackson - Savannah, GA

While we were still close enough to visit Savannah, of course we had to take a day trip and go.  We planned it on Saturday so we could go to church at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist for Mass.  I was looking on line to see what else there was to do in Savannah that we hadn't already done.  I found an old fort that we hadn't seen, so off we went.  Here are some pictures of the demonstration that was at the fort and the shooting of the canon.

Plaque outside the fort

This is the park re-enactor that explained how the canons were used.

This is the canon that they fired.  It is a reproduction, but it was very cool to see it being fired.

This was a cargo ship that came right beside the fort.  Huge.
