The Putnam Family

The Putnam's are my ancestors and were a prominent family in Salem during the time of the witch trials.  Gen. Israel Putnam was a General in Washington's army.  The house is where he was born and the candy store was a shoe store that the family owned in his day.  Today the candy store is still owned by his descendants.  The last picture is of the old western burial ground where Nate's 10x great grandfather, Thomas Townsend is buried.  We couldn't get into the cemetery because it was Sunday and they had no trespassing signs all over the place.  Don't know if there was a marker for his grave or not.
